Every year Florida, our favorite Giant Sand Bar State gets hit with Hurricanes. Yet some people even with a weeks notice do not prepare. They expect the government to come in and take care of them, save them if you will. Recently a Floridian in an online think tank made this point and his comments were applauded by the other members as one member in the think tank replied; You make an excellent point, we should not have citizens relying on the government or anyone else for their well being. They need to take responsibility for their own safety and their family first and foremost. I found it interesting that those in South Florida, Everglades area did not evacuate as told and they were actually only in many places 4-5 feet above sea level although inland a ways. Then those who stayed complained when no one came to save them, turn the power back on for weeks or clear things out right away. It seems kind of silly to complain, when you made a choice to stay and brave the storm and actually broke the law in doing so??/p> It just so happens the Floridian Think Tank Member has three Hurricanes in his County alone last year passing overhead is serious business and in the future he could easily get larger category storms with direct hits. People need to prepare and be smart no doubt. You are right folks do need to be smart about preparing like you have done. Folks if you live in Hurricane country prepare for all potential eventualities. Moth [1] [2] 下一页 |
